Bluetick question for you bluetick men

I am just curious to how much Blueticks sound alike. How often do you all get to saying "thats my dog" on a 4 dog bluetick cast. Alot of them have big old bawl mouths and I was just thinking if its hard to tell them apart. Thanks.

Just as different as any hound breed. I have three littermate brothers. All bawl mouthed on the track but easy to tell which is which.

Have drawn out with 2 blues in a cast on several occassions and most every time the guys were calling each others dog all night. Most of them do sound similar. I have hunted with many both pleasure hunting and in the hunts. Yo do have youre ones that stand out from the pack though.

I think the only time 4 Blue dogs draw out is at an all blue hunt.

But they still don't all sound alike just because they are blue!

Pretty much the same difference between any breeds...

Closest thing i've ever heard that sounded like my bluetick male was a B&T male lol, we were pleasure hunting 4 of us spent the whole nite saying no thats the blue dog, nope thats the black dog never in my life have I heard to dogs sounded so much alike.

See? Now you heard it from a Bluetick Girl -- it's not the color, it's the dog!

There are a few words that could apply to the mouths of most blue dogs, and those words are GOOD, LOUD, and HOUNDY!! If I seem partial, it's because I am! LOL!

The truth is, I've heard good and bad in all breeds, and as a rule, they're all different.

Well seems to me that some breeds just have a REALLY BIG BAWL MOUTH. Then in some breeds the handlers do. LMAO

One of mine sounds so much like his daddy sometimes... if he was still alive I'd think it was him.

Bluetick voice

Both my hounds have long open bawl mouths on track. My male is extremely loud, and his voice is deeper and coarse then becomes higher pitched towards the end of each bawl. On a cold track he is more tight mouthed. Just needs to know there hounds voice and locate.

I have raised blueticks for over thirty years and never had any trouble telling them apart. Each were a little different sounding and some were alot.

There is as much discrepancy with Bluetick's as in any other breed regarding their mouth.

Ok well yawl all just make me sick. That is my problem in the hunts. I can't tell a blue tic from a border collie. LOL
Hunted with one that was easy to pick out. Wasn't mine but it's name was squeeky and it earnd it's name.
I had an ear infection that ate a hole in my ear drum and think it might not have helped. If I ever get a dog trained up I am going to have to play lets make a deal with a good handler. : )
