tight mouth cold trailers?? after 30 years of hunting trail and tree hounds. i have never seen this. usually the cold nosed trailers were good open mouthed dogs. usually bawl mouth. every tight mouthed dog i ever seen was a hotter nosed dog. now i have seen some very nice hounds that were tighter mouthed and would cull tracks . meaning they would leave a bad track and other the dogs messing with it , slip away down the creek, and find somthing better and wammo, fall treed with the meat. now to someone who didn't understand what happend it might look like he worked that track out silent or drifted the track and found the coon. now this will happen but usually what has happend is the dog dropped of the bad and found good and treed. that is my kind of dog. i had a dog that would do this alot. and a freind of mine didn't beleive me that he was culling tracks . till one night he left the rest on an old bad track that he struck on , hushed and droped in there about 1/4 opened 3 times and pow treed. we went in there and he had a litter of baby kitten coons. that made a believer out of him. and the other cold trailers were still trying to work out that old bad track that they started with . and we just done scored us plus with the thief
..come to think of it this dog was a grand son to stylish dollywho was a littermate to patch. this dogs momma was a sister to rank (lipper x stylish dolly) . this particular dog was the best i ever unsnapped , bar none...
