Heavy Patch Breeding ???

Does anyone know of a heavily Hardwood Patch bred male thats reproducing good cold nosed track driving pups that make coondogs? I'm looking to the future to cross my female out of DualGrCh. Kings Mtn. Stylish Nut. I really like the Patch bred dogs I've seen & owned & Bozo breeding crosses well on Nut & I'd think Patch would too. My female is a little tight on ground at times on really cold tracks & very independent & gets split most of the time , but she'll definitley have the meat about 80 to 90% of the time & will flat go hunting alone. I think Patch wolud cross well on her what do the Patch & Bozo breeding fans think? Thanks also what about Tonys' Wild Clover semen or Logans Wild Clover or Wessels Wild Card?

Arlander McClendon has Patch Semen. Hardwood Henry is off Patch. I have 3 six month old male pups that I'm ready start soon as the weather breaks. They are off Henry and my Henry granddaughter. So far all I know about these pups is that they will hunt as deep as the dogs you send them with and they don't come back.
Henry is still alive and breeding as far as I know and John Burgess has semen from him. I got 8 off my Henry straw. Henry has never been know as a great reproducer but if you do the numbers his UKC titled percentage is 6.5 percent on 951 pups. That would rank him in the top 10 for every breed except the Walker breed. That makes him a proven reproducer in my book.

JiM,
Is correct. Either seeing what Arlender knows of any recent Patch sons from the Patch straws or finding something off Hardwood Henry would be your best bet.

Thanks guys

We in fact bred a littermate sister To Henry owned by a gentleman in Virginia & he said they were the best pups he'd saw in 40 years of hunting & one made NtCh. at way under 2 yrs. old with 3 first place wins The only one put in a hunt. He bred the old girl again & lost most of the pups as she was to old. He plans on breeding to Nut again though & says this female throws nice pups too.

Thanks larry

I've been told by a man that knew Patch very well that he threw awfully tight mouthed pups. I personally didn't mind what I've saw from him & the ones I did see would work it out when others were beating & bawling around & be gone with it on some bad tracks too. My female out of Nut & Jackie is the same way & extremely accurate & quick. She gets the tightness on a real cold one from her mother, but her mother was an absolute coondog when in her prime & would beat slick treeing dogs pitifully bad most times. I've saw her split with the meat from 1 to 6 times a night here in KY. while others were slick. to say that Jackie was a coon dog is an understatement. I never once had her & Nut tree together & if you were packing a rifle you could wipe a place pretty much out. You didn't have to kill coon to her either& my female from her & Nut is the same way. A dog that splits as much as they do doesn't have to have them as it's their naturally bred & born in style & will never change. Now what's your opinion about tightness from Patch pups??? I wish mine would open a little more sometimes, but i'll take accuracy over overly open mouthed dogs.

tight mouth cold trailers?? after 30 years of hunting trail and tree hounds. i have never seen this. usually the cold nosed trailers were good open mouthed dogs. usually bawl mouth. every tight mouthed dog i ever seen was a hotter nosed dog. now i have seen some very nice hounds that were tighter mouthed and would cull tracks . meaning they would leave a bad track and other the dogs messing with it , slip away down the creek, and find somthing better and wammo, fall treed with the meat. now to someone who didn't understand what happend it might look like he worked that track out silent or drifted the track and found the coon. now this will happen but usually what has happend is the dog dropped of the bad and found good and treed. that is my kind of dog. i had a dog that would do this alot. and a freind of mine didn't beleive me that he was culling tracks . till one night he left the rest on an old bad track that he struck on , hushed and droped in there about 1/4 opened 3 times and pow treed. we went in there and he had a litter of baby kitten coons. that made a believer out of him. and the other cold trailers were still trying to work out that old bad track that they started with . and we just done scored us plus with the thief
..come to think of it this dog was a grand son to stylish dollywho was a littermate to patch. this dogs momma was a sister to rank (lipper x stylish dolly) . this particular dog was the best i ever unsnapped , bar none...

This female is tight at times, but will take a track & get it lined out & tree it. I have saw dogs open the same track & track it all the way to the tree without hushing & back her. Believe me when I say she's got the nose. I've saw her tree coon some wouldn't look to good on & have saw her daddy in a World Qualifier tree a coon that the other GrNtCh.s never knew was there. They actually came in to tree & wouldn't tree & the whole cast couldn't believe it. He came out of timber where a tornado had torn up & drifted out with it & not one could smell it. He treed 3 singles on this hunt & Qualified. I'm not doubting what you say in any way, but I've been hunting a long time & know what a track dog is supposed to be. She will absolutley hold her own & if in thick moving coon can devastate dogs pretty bad, but doesn't need a track to tree coon either. She just does her thing & doesn't worry about other dogs most of the time & is extremely accurate. She just fell treed Saturday night & a pretty good dog I know well wouldn't hardly tree & had the grease. She's just got a knack for it thankfully lol

Jess has cut her foot pretty bad, I don't know if we'll make it to Lebanon or not. Daniel Pingleton is hunting N.J. right now. With the remodeling & moving that Chris has going on it's just hard for him to find much time to hunt. He'll be finished very soon though & it will be Katy bar the door. Talking about hunting one back into shape lol. Weve jerked Nut out & started hunting him again. We just couldn't stand it any longer. It's like he lives to hunt ,so why deny him?? We went last night & treed 2 singles & a double. Taylor Jackson(Tayjack on here)& his dad Tim from Georgia came up & hunted with us. We had a blast. They're very good guys. Drove to dogs first 2 drops. Went to Fishing Creek last drop & showed them what our hunting typically is. Straight up & rough as a cob lol. Larry Ross owns Jackie now & has her bred to his dog. You can contact him about a pup as Jackie throws her likeness on everything she's been bred to & they'll have the meat & dont care much about slicks. I've actually had people ask why Jess would't back when she was younger. Then they noticed they weren't seeing eyes & figured it out when she was all alone with the coon their dogs had missed lol. See you soon buddy

She is one smart cookie & will usually open when she figures out where it went, but sometimes doesn't when it's really cold & others are beating & bawling & standing on their head. She's a coon treeing son of a gun & by far the most accurate young dog I've ever owned & I've owned a bunch of them. If your shining a tree & she comes in from another direction, she'll circle the tree checking it first & doesn't tree to just tree as she definitley uses her own head with no regards to what other dogs are doing& if you'll let her will go , she'll go tree it if they're slick a lot of times. I'm not doubting what your saying a bit & absolutley agree for the most part, but believe me she is smart as they come & definitley isn't hot nosed.
