New Astro is awesome, but got a ?

I got my new Garmin last week and am loving it, but I have one question for those of you smarter than me.

I read on here a couple of months ago that you could mark a waypoint on the map where your dog is and then walk to that spot even after the dog has moved on. So far I've only figured out how to mark where I'm at. Can this really be done and if so, how?

Thanks,
Jeff

Just move the arrow to the spot and click "mark", zoom in tight so it will be more accurate.

Yeah that's what I was wanting to do, but last night I tried it just like Rip said I think.
I used the arrow keys to move the arrow over the dog on the map screen and then I pushed "Mark", but it didn't mark where the dog was, it put a waypoint where I was. What did I do wrong?
