Good times...

My hunting partner, Jeff Bradford, and I decided we’d bring the kids along on a coon hunting trip to start off the New Year. Jeff brought his three boys, Conner, Keith, and Jeffery. I bought my son, Cole. We loaded up his Bullet II pup, Tex, and I brought my Gauge pup, Recon. The dogs did a fine job putting a coon up for us though it could have been closer. We had to walk a pretty fair distance get there but the boys never complained. We looked like two mother hens with chicks in tow weaving through the underbrush headed to the dogs. We got there about an hour later and the dogs had two coons treed. I don’t think it gets any better than this.....

Used to rabbit hunt and field trial with me all the time, from about the age of 3, I remember carring him and running with him in my arms to get out to see a line to score thhe rabbit, really miss those days! His mother and I divorced almost 2 years ago now, and she has custody of him and I have my daughter!! And he is more into the video games these days, wish he would still go out with me some, I miss it! Good looking bunch of boys there, take them when ever you can, because you never know what tommorow or next year will bring!!!

And jimmy didn't mention they all range in age from 6-8 years old, and it was 24 degrees outside. In Texas, that is COLD!!!!! They were little troopers tho. A 1.5 mile round trip hike and they laughed and smiled the whole way. It was good times.

The one that's got that coon by the tail already looks like trouble. Great Picture!

Good for you guys & the boys!

Great looking bunch of youngsters! Sounds like you had a blast. As other folks have mentioned, enjoy these times. They grow up all too quick and their likes & interests will change. My daughter used to tag along quite often. She is grown & married now along with working two jobs. My son went a couple of times, but has no real interest. He is in college now & working 30 hours a week on top of that. I wish you many more successful nights in the woods with your young sons & blue dogs!

Vic
