As soon as they can walk! But....go slow. By the time they are about 4 weeks old if they are born here, or otherwise as soon as we get them if we get a pup from an outside source, I start putting them on the bench. First few times its just to get them up there and pet and brush and handle them, let them know the bench is a good place to be. Then you can start teaching the to stand still, then to hold their head in the proper position, then start squaring them up. Lessons should be very short (less than 5 minutes) for the youngest ones, and always end on a positive note.
