this is a cross I am thinking about making but I'm new to the walker breed and am wondering what others would think of this cross. what would be the good the bad and the ugly of this cross. I know that every cross is a gamble but paper-wise and what people know of each bloodline, what could this produce?

So far Tweak has 11 pups, 7 perm registered.

2 nitechs and 1 gnitech

one of the nitechs has one win to grnitech and one has no wins.
one has 45 points on the bench and 15 points in the water
one with 10 points in the water
one with 45 field trial points
one with 65 water race poitns and 30 field trial poitns

Should be a good cross, good blood. Word is Harry Bawls is throwing some nice pups. Your female looks as though she has won in the hunts, I really like how she has 2 HTX passes, and looks like her pups are winning too.. Best of luck with this cross!

from what I have gathered from the people that own and hunt Harry pups and Tweak pups I feel that this cross SHOULD produce fast track dogs, hard tree dogs, accurate, hard going/never look back, young and easy starting along with naturally straight coon dogs...

if ANYONE has any info on pups out of either dog, your welcome to post it here or PM me about it.

I tried just looking at your dogs ped, then asking what I would breed her too.
Nothing wrong with Bawls cross, but if she were mine, I would breed her to something with some Sackett in it. Of course, it's a little difficult because I don't know all the dogs on the bottom, but that looks like it would be good. One of the X dogs (Insane X, High-Expectations, Extreme X, Cain) might be a good choice.

I've got a coondog off X,jr on top and a dam off Sackett, Sr. on bottom. He is available, but he is not yet titled. A couple more hunts and he should be. Has a first. He was a pleasure dog most of his life or he would be GRNITCH by now easily. Especially in his prime.

Anyhow...that would be my suggestion. Of course some of it depends on what you are breeding for, the strenghts / weaknesses of your female and those in her line, etc.

I judged the cast that made Harry Bawls GRNITECH. Harry Bawls goes deep with the meat. If I were a walker man I've have me some Harry Bawls. I'd get three pups and name them Buster Bawls, Bawls O' Fire and Biggo Bawls.

You should make that cross. PRP them.Then work hard to get them into the hands of comp hunters and make your money on the PRP checks. My brother got checks off that program for 3 straight years and never went to a hunt or spent the first dime. He just bred the right bitch.

Harry is a get through yonder looking to tree a Coon type dog. Ain't but 2 dogs Id breed to in this day and age and he's one of them. Good luck with your cross. Harry will do his part Im sure of it.

I agree. There shouldn't be. I would breed for something good in all departments .

I'm with redtide on this one. I would call Frank Giddings, go stay and hunt and breed to his Max dog. He is closer and you will get to hunt with the dog your breeding to

thanks for all the input guys! I have a few people on the list already, but just to clarify,
IT IS NOT 100% CONFIRMED THAT THIS CROSS WILL BE MADE and if we do make this cross it will be this time in 2012 or 2013 and I do not know what I will be asking for these pups
no deposits will taken until the cross had been made, everyone will be contacted if anything changes.
