I agree with you 100%.But I know a couple fellows that are blind to it and they always think someone else dog starts it.

Sometimes people use the excuse well my dog woln't get treed with that mean dog in there. Often the dog isn't harmless one bit and there just trying to make theirselves believe that's why their dog is looking like crap.

Then sometimes a guy knowingly brings a mean dog to a hunt and that's definatley not right. Most of youre mean dogs are 100% independant so the hunter thinks well he will be by him/herself all the time and in most casts that's true but the sometimes a dog will cover thhat mean dog then that's where it gets ugly.

I had a Nite Ch dog named Spike a few years back that was an unreal dog. I needed 2 more wins on him to make him grand so I took him to a few hunts and everywhere I went people said what an aligator he was. Some people just like to down other peoples dogs. Me and Spike didn't mind.

In the hunts alot of young dogs jack the tree anymore and that's where you will run into problems. I see so many tree jackers anymore, and usually it's in young dogs.

3 years ago I was in a regular ukc hunt and I was hunting my good female and I treed her and on our way into the tree this guys young dog started treeing with my female. We got in there and all I could see was that guys dog running around and jacking the tree and she came down right on top of my femele 3 times and on the third time my fremale anapped at her and that guy started throwing a fit saying I needed to be scratched. I just started laughing and said go ahead and scratcth me, I told him if that dog continued to do that in the hunts his dog would end up at the vet. My female had never even growled at another dog and that was the only time she's done it since. They didn't end up scratching me either.

Ill consider that the smartest thing you have said on here as well.

I don't know everything about coon hunting and I don't claim too but in 5 years I have owned 6 dogs 4 of which were walkers and 2 were english and they were all consistent inpapendent coon treeing machines. That's not bragging because I worked my butt off with these dogs and night in and night out they were coon dogs. Maybe i'm dead wrong on every oppinion I have when it comes to coon hunting but one thing is forsure I know what a coon dog is. If you want to see two cut loose in the cold with no leaves let me know stoke and we will flip em loose.

Nobody owns a mean dog. There's always some explanation and the truth is most dogs that might be described as mean are NOT mean in all places all the time.

I had one that was consistant in the woods but if hunted with a male you would sooner or later have a fight. Never had a problem with females. Just pleasure hunted him when I knew it would be ok.
