I just watched a video on the story at:

http://www.kcrg.com/

Our DNR recently went on record as saying anyone shooting a mountain loin in Michigan would face charges because in our state they would be considered an endangered animal.

It's illegal to kill bears here in Alabama, but a couple seasons ago a deer hunter was coming out of tree and met with bear at bottom -- killed the bear and no charges filed.

Heck, DNR killed a bear not far from here last year because they didn’t have any serum to tranquilize the bear when it started coming down out of a tree ina neighborhood.

Would Michigan not file charges if protecting's one self like the deer hunter who killed the bear?

Drew,

The easiest way to figure out what our DNR would do is to think what would be opposite of good common sense.

He was actually later charged for hunting over a corn pile.

I don't know about the later charges, I know that he wasn't charged for killing the bear.

Here's the story of the bear attack.
