how many hounds do u hunt with when going after bear the reason i ask is i work on a veggie farm and this year there was a good sized bear there that destroyed a whole corn field and bee hives and iv only got two blue ticks that i hunt with and and the only reason for only 2 is im just getting it to hunting with hounds so is my boys

It takes one dog to tree a bear. It happens all the time.

Lot of guys say that its dangerous to run just one or two dogs, but I don't feel its any more of a risk than we take when we unsnap them under any other circumstance.

Two dogs is plenty if they are the right dogs. You can do better with one of the right kind, than with 20 of the wrong kind.

I'd say if its just your average bear, he's gonna run and pop up a tree, or just keep on runnin for his life. If he's a little ornery, I'd say them dogs aren't gonna pester him too much. It'd take a pretty brave dog to get its self into serious trouble by itself on the first bear its ever seen.

Have you treed anything with them blueticks? You hunt them on coon also? I have hunted around lincoln, hancock and granville before with don pecor. Some good hills down that way.

It only takes one bluetick, or a whole pack of walkers.
