Oh, what a feelin'!
Last night, Frank and Zam made history for us. He finished Zam to NITECH with two 1sts and a 2nd. This is Frank and I's first NITECH since we started in this 11 yrs. ago. Zam will be my 1st NITECH as a breeder, since I bred and raised the litter, he gave his sire and dam their first NITECH.
When Frank got in an hour before deadline, I thought crap, oh well, we will wait for next year. He put Zam away, came in, took off all his hunting gear and came into sit on the bed. I said Bad night? He said Yeah it was crappy.....BUT your dog is now a NITECH and threw the win slip at me. I almost passed out, the shock rendered me SPEECHLESS and that is saying something, for everyone who knows me, I LOVE to talk, lol.
The funny thing with Zam is, you don't really have to hunt him. He can be laid up all winter, go out and tree 3 coon, when you do take him out. He doesn't usually get hunted from 1 hunt to the next, Frank loads him up and they go tree coon. One thing he is very good at is keeping his mouth shut until he almost is ready to tree and he loves to split tree and he has the coon. I'm not bragging, well ok, a little, but this dog is a smart dog. He will be 7 yrs. old in March. I hope to get a few more pups from him, before he passes on. The ones he has on the ground now are doing a great job at 5 mos. old.
