Unemplyment in this area is the highest in the country. Our county is at 17% unemplyment. Hunt attendabce at every club in the area is up this year from what I have seen.
Only in America!

Its keeping the Kenton Nationals from happening this year. I have been going to Kenton Nationals for over 20 years and they are not having it due to the state of the economy!

Alot of the counties including where I live is in the high teens with unemployment. If you want to see one of the highest in the country look at Perry Co. in Tn there uneployment rate was at 27% last time I saw it. There also expecting Maury Co. to go over 20% before year end. I am stuck between both counties and there is no jobs here. I have to drive 90 miles one way to work. I imagine it would be hard for many people to attend hunts without a job or way to make money.

I know its been keeping us from the shows for some time now.
lack of work and gas prices , our gas-guzzling truck has been parked for months now. Not to mention is has no AC.
And the dogs wont fit in the hatchback/lowrider.

Fox,

I hope we can get some more people out for the hunts. Plenty of good hunting close to the club so anyone that shows up shouldn't have to drive far to hunt. If I can find someone to handle Bo for me I may bring him over the 27th along with Molly.

That wacko isn't the one that sent all our jobs out of the country. Like him or not he walked in the house after it was allready on fire. Best he can do is try to save part of it.
Those hand outs are all a lot of people around here have. Includeing a lot of soliders that came home and got layed off. They don't even have a place to apply for a job that would suport a familey.

you dont have to pay a master of hounds, you can use a hunt director, there are usually someone there that could set in as hunt director.

didn't know who you were talkin about because for the last few hunts me and raymond were the only ones comin from along way off. just a little missunderstandin i guess.

as president of the club i have been working hard to get new hunters to come to our hunts and if everyone ive talked to lately shows up it should be a very good turnout. but you know how that goes.

we definately need to start doing some different things at the club to keep it going.
