Wildlife collars

I had a friend give me a changeable battery Wildlife collar, here is my question, what kind of battery does it take and where do I get them? Thanks for any responses, Todd

we've always got ours from vendors at purina nite hunts, but recently I did order a couple online from Valley Creek Hunting Supply. Deffinatly check out some of the online hunting supply places if your not to any big hunts that carry them.

The 2 Wildlife collars i had used 1 3.6 volt AA for medium range or 2 short 3.6 volts for long range. Radio shack has them but expect to pay around $15 per Battery

How do you know if they take the long or short, or will they accept either and the battery determines the range.

The one I had would take either. Using 1 would last longer but the 2 would give it more range.

Before I switched to Marshall's I had some Wildlife collars. 2 of the 1/2 batteries is the way to go. Used to make my Tracker a lot more accurate with them vs the single long battery. They where a WHOLE lot easier to track with the 1/2 batteries as well.
