Tree Hugger

I was hunting with my friend Doug friday night on land that he farms when we turned two young dogs loose. The young dogs struck and ran a track slightly left-handed and treed. We were discussing which way to go into the dogs when the first shot rang out. We both hit the dirt because the shot was so close, and then got ourselves behind some trees. This guy starts yelling and cussing and threatning to kill us and our dogs. He shoots at us again, yells some more and shoots at the dogs again. I yelled at the guy saying that we just wanted to get our dogs. He was yelling and coming towards us while threatning to kill us for a third time. My friend Doug called 9-1-1. I could hear the guy sneaking towards us in the woods. At this point, I went from being scared to mad. He shot as us again, and I informed him that he was not the only one with a gun in the woods that night. His misguided bravery disapeared. Doug was on the phone with 9-1-1, when we went to the truck and drove around to another road to wait on the law. A neighbor came out and told us that this guy comes in only during hunting season to these farms to guard people from hunting on them, which he does not own. The 6 officers shows up and go to confront this guy, and he tells them that they are tresspassing. He gets belligerent, and would not comply. He stepped towards one of the deputies and is met with a taser gun. They cuffed him and stuffed him into the cruiser, and he got to spend a free weekend in jail. Charges are pending.

It is good to see a hunter that handles things well. I allways carrie a gun but as long as I have a tree and he isn't an immediate threat I hope I would do just like you. I might shoot off a scare round to get him to quet shooting at my dogs but would rather loose a dog than have to kill a man.
I say way to go. I do thing your post was wrong about one thing though. I can tell you haven't spent many nights in jail. There not free. lmao
