Someone would have to be down right unsportsman like to try and get someone scratched for that. Whether a coon was found or not.

Here's a good question for everyone.

Say you just treed youre dog the 5 was up and you say keep the lights DIM and this crook handler knows that if he throws a spotlight up a leafy tree right away the coon most likley look so as soon as you start shinning bam he throws his spotlight up the tree.

Can he be scratched????????? I think it should fall under the unsportsman-like-conduct myself.

the judge will send you home

The judge can scratch you any time you do not follow his directions...there is no oops I didn't hear you.

I want the first two minutes to shine. you shine at 1min 59 sec You are gone.

I want you to shine on dim for two minutes. you turn it on click 2
You are gone.

When we line them up to cut loose I say Cut EM!!! (on the count of three) under my breath. You cut your dog loose.
You are gone.

Everyone better make sure you listen to the judge.

BLA BLA BLA it sounds like there are a lot of people that will try to get rid of you for anything.

Talk about calline the kettle black. Judge can only scratch for not following the rules, I could care less about his directions. I would also like a judge to ask what click my light is on. His dim don't mean its my dim.

I don't think you really get my point but thanks for the reply.

If I say everyone can shine but keep them low and you immediatley throw a spotlight up my big leafy tree you are purposley trying to keep that coon from looking and that is in FACT unsportsmanlike conduct. How isn't it?

Anyone that has coon hunted long enough will know that a coon is 10 times more apt to look at a dim light then a powerfull spotlight and believe me when I say that a handler KNOWS what there doing by throwing a spotlight up there tree.

smokin
you know as well as i do that there are times when you need the clock to run more than you need to see the coon.
id say the guy that found the coon needed to get recast real quick.

My guess is more people are doing this and that's why there's no responses to it.

CLICK 2? lol, i use a NITELITE, with the big heavy red battery, only 1 click on it, click ON and click OFF, with the reostat. i do however, know the difference between dim and bright, my spotlight never leaves the holster until called upon, and i also have the strobe available upon request along with an amber lens to help dim the light! i hunt the thick forests of north central pennsylvania, which are loaded with hemlocks and other thick evergreens, our oaks both red and white are thick foliage in the early fall, and there are many times, when the only time you can so much as catch sight of an eye is at 75 yards from the tree the coon is treed in and only with that bright spotlight! only would do this under request, and would honestly say there's the coon, if i caught the eye in the beam of the spotlight even if it costed me the hunt! honesty is the word in my book! i know that this is debatable, but here, when it comes to that situation, i'm sure most would say "light m up boys/girls should there be a female hunter present! those trees are extremely hard to spot anything in it except leaves! JMO
