Cool trophy mount

While working on my truck's bed, I decided to give this a try. I think it looks rugged and really presents the "trophy" in a cool way. What do you think? It is do it yourself bed liner material sprayed on the skull. In this case, it was a good hog I had caught several years back. I've been wanting to do something different with the bottom jaw for some time.

In person, it really looks good with all the texture. I can't wait to do a deer rack.

This is awesome! Ive always wanted a coon skull to keep as a trophy but ive never been real sure as to how you would go about getting the brain out without damaging the skull. Any ideas????

Place it in a cage over an ant hill. If no ants around, boil it. It will eventually boil out.

Coon Skulls...

We didn't have the ant option SO... Boil em... Bob said you have to scramble up the brain BEFORE boiling....go up thru the neck with a coat hanger or something similar or it will expand and break the skull. WARNING... it LOOKS pretty GROOS when it boils out... so does the flesh but if you wanna preserve skulls you wont mind. USE GLOVES TO HANDLE THE BRAIN material though... since RABIES can be a concern. Bob has preserved a couple... they are really cool. We collect skulls of any cool dead thing we can(other than HUMAN .....).... It is best if the Animal Control Officer does not come up your driveway when you are boiling a deer head a friend gave you from their farm! LOL... had to explain that one...

That Trophy Hog is cool! Bob liked it. We did a pig head from a pig roast... We're out in the burbs here... near Boston MA and Providence RI... so we were SO surprised when the guy told us people OFTEN ask for the heads! LOL... we thought they would think we were the weirdest wedding guests ever....

Here is a nice coon skull...... in the making... then done. IMAGINE it with the bedliner! WOW....
SHOW US IF YOU DO ONE!!!

HAPPYHUNTING! Heather and Bob

Skulls

I do a lot of deer heads I boil them. I always wanted to paint a skull with that fleck paint, you know like they have in car trunks I know you can get it at Walmart. Also saw a few skulls at the pow wows with scenes painted on the front like they do on the buck saws!

Anyone attempted it on a buck skull yet? I'd love to see some pics.
