Is this true?

I had a buddy tell me that his uncle shot a coon out of a tree, when they were younger, and it fell and hit the dog in the head and killed it.

Come on!! seriously there's no way I could imagine this happening.

some say it happened to them.Guess a 8 pound coon would make a hard thump from thirty feet up.

i've heard of people getting hit in the head and hurt bad, without a doubt it could kill you or the dog if it hit you hard enough in the right place.
I always tie the dogs back and also i'm getting back myself when we're shooting them out.

Man, I'd hate to see the size of that acorn!!! Can you imagine how happy the squirrel that got ahold of that would be? LOL!

I have been hit square in the head by coons that bailed out of the tree not once, but twice. Nearly, knocked me off my feet both times.

The first time I think it took my wife an hour to stop laughing ... I still owe her for that too.

can

Situation,

Coon falls from a tree at around 25-30 feet, falls on a dog, across the back across the hips, Broken back dislocated hip. Can it happen, in a heart beat. Seen it.
I always tie the dogs off when a coon is being shot out. If you every see it happen, you will tie the dogs back.

Never heard

of it happening. But I can see where 15 lbs dropped on a dogs head from 35' could kill it.

It was Thunder St. Nick a few years back, one great stud he was. Had to be put down with the broke back. It can happen, as others said, tie the dogs back away where the coon can't fall on em'. Then be sure you are out of the way as well.
