Dog ?

I have a nearly 4 yo male that I treat once a month with Heartguard and Advantix. The other night I was hunting him and he squatted to do his business and my buddy behind me pointed out that it looked like blood in his stool. I turned my light on and saw it for myself, it was liquidy poop covered in blood. Anyone have an idea of where I should start?

Fenbendazole per wt of dog for three days will wipe out most kinds of parasites. Sounds like Giardia and Fenbendazole will take care of that.

Does your dog chew at the tree? We had a dog in the past that would chew and make it's gums bleed then swallow it. After many fecal exams performed at the vets office, that was the conclusion they came to. Just a thought.

It was after the 2nd tree of the night... It was Tuesay night and it was a little warmer and he had been treeing pretty hard, so maybe that's it. Never had this happen before, he's healthy acting during the day. I did notice that night he seemed tired and I've yet to get him tired, but he hunted hard two nights in a row and the following day he was pretty chipper, pacing on the chain and such....

I wonder if I should get another wormer, any reccomendations?

I've never seen him chew at the tree ever... Lately he's been a stay put, locked down, can't pull him away from the tree, tree dog.

if he has blood in his stool in the kennel its more than likely hooks..use any wormer with pyrantel pomate.. i use nemex for hooks and rounds..and droncit for tapes

Fenbendazole is the active ingredient in Safeguard and Panacur.Same stuff different names.TSC carries both.Any farm supply usually does.
Coccidiosis can cause bloody stools and will make dogs weak(can kill pups)Albon will treat Coccidia and Giardia
