LOL! I don't have A CLUE how to pronounce that! My Mother would kill me... LOL...

Christy... I kinda say Puh-Con AND... I guess most Bostonians don't? I never did talk like a Bostonian... little hints here and there but...MAN I hate a Boston accent! LOL! I just LOVE a Southern accent...UNLESS the speaker goes too fast... then I'm lost... LOL...

Darn I want PIE! I wont even tell Bob about this thread... he'll go out and buy a pie tomorrow somewhere...LOL...

Recipe

Christy, where I was raised a PEE-CAN was something you had by your bed to use so you wouldn't have to go to the bathroom.A PUH-con is something you eat.Recipe sounds good.

This is so funny....It also brought back a fun memory....My mom and all of her 7 younger siblings were raised in the sticks of Middleton, TN. Anyway, to make a very long story short. As a child I remember that we had this very same debate sitting around the family Thanksgiving table, on how to say 'pecan'. One of my uncles (RIP) said these same words about the differences of the two...We all laughed so hard that we all needed a pee-can !! LOL

In a new tv commercial for Honey Bunches of oats... they make sure it is pronounced TWO different ways!

GLAD your pie was GOOD! Wish I had one this morning... instead of the bag of salt an vinegar chips I ate for BREAKFAST! Blechhhhh!

LOL... happy baking and eatting, Heather

THAT ten lbs is the reason I won't make one myself any more! I used to make puhcon pie... and a MEAN key lime pie pretty often... It is amazing how much the weight likes to stick on you as you get OLD #1 but #2... when you were a VERY active horse person...doing barn work, riding standing up 20 hours a day...7 days a week etc... and then you get hurt and can't work any more.... it is even MORE amazing. At this point I can LOOK at a pie...think about a pie...and gain a lb....LOL... Also have a hubby and 3 boys with high cholesteral... don't wanna killem off....

Happy Eatting, Exercising, Dieting.... Heather

OH YEAH! I'd take the PIE eatting pain ANY DAY! LOL.. I can FEEL the crust and TASTE those yummy puhcons... I think the way they are working my butt off at PT trying to get my poor spine some support from some dead muscles... I MIGHT just be able to eat some pie without gaining TOOOOooo Much weight LOL...

PS... I'd lose weight thinking about riding a BULL! I'd be SO scared! LOL... then again I was scared of breaking the young horses too.... Shudder.... LOL.....

The best and true southern pecan pie receipe can be found on the back of a bottle of dark karo syrup. I guarantee you will find no better.

Pecan Pie

Check out Cooks.com search for Texas Pecan Pie or Classic Pecan Pie.

Don't mess your pie up with Chocolate, rasins, cranberries or mint patties.

PE Con Pie!

Like they said the other one is under the bed or in the deer blind.
