im not to active on the message board but i have a ? thats been bothering me.


Three dogs split strike points. dogs drive rabbit two hundred yards across bean feild . they get beside a barn towards the edge of feild . they break down and go into a check . the time is almost up . dog starts barking about 50 yds away from handlers and drives rabbit out of feild right infront of handlers . line called the dog wich was the one that started rabbit was the only one to cross .the dog drove rabbit up and half way back down the hill before another dog even joined in.

sould check points and line be rewarded or should handlers split on strike points and line not be rewarded

If the handlers did not agree to handle dogs when they saw them in a place of refuge begfor the hound picked up the check. The hound gets scored on the line. There is no such thing as a check area in hunting beagle.

Dogs have 3 minutes to recover regardless, Like Bill said there is no "check area" in hunting beagle format. Thats why alot of times if I'm judging and I'm sure the rabbit is down I'll ask the handlers if they want to run the clock or catch the dogs. If your in a place with alot of rabbits that "No check area" really sucks.
But it would just be ANOTHER rule that gets twisted and abused, cause one persons check area wouldn't be the same as anothers

tell the whole story not part of it and 3 minutes was up just like the track b4 that 1 when u was fine with it cuz there was no line u seen the same thing as i did and u no that was a different rabbit! but hey i dont blame 4 tryn 2 get that line most people would hav tried that its cool but u know in ur mind it was a totally different rabbit now b honest!!!!!!!

does it mater if it was a diff rabbit ? they are not color cordinatited. and any time it goes into a check are you sure that is the same rabbit that they come out with ?

IF 3 IS UP I FELL THAT HOUNDS NEED HANDELED AND CARD NEEDS MARKED AND BEFORE DOGS CASTED AGAIN JUDGE ASK IF ANY QUESTIONS ON LAST TRACK THAT WILL LEAVE ALOT LESS ROOM FOR ERROR OR NIT PICKIN
