Puppy With Swollen Face?

One of my 4 month old pups has a swollen face this morning. Is there anything I can give him to make it go down? He seems fine except for the left side of his face is all swelled up.
Fine last night, actually I just took pictures of them last night, so I don't get it. Would maybe a bee sting or spider bite have done this?
He ate his treats just fine, haven't seen him drink yet.

Help anyone?

Thanks,
Laura

benadryl usually helps with swelling, we give it for snake bites to keep it down

I take that back, he's still swelled up. I've got Benadryl tabelts, I'm going to try and give him one of those.

Could also be puppy strangles.

Here is a pic of one Susie's hounds when she had one with it.

http://www.coondawgs.com/forum/view...=26&t=20430

Someone on here back this summer had a hound that the face looked like in the pictures in the above link and came out to be a spider bite.

OUCH

I had one like that earlyer this year.
Looks like a bee sting or spiderbite to me
I just gave mine benadryl and asprin my females was really fevered so I gave it like 4 times a day
If it was puppy strangles its lips would get real stiff and it would be all around his neck not just one side by my experiance.
mine cleared up in 4 days or so
GOOD LUCK

Oh crap. It is his lips and down on his chest. Lips aren't stiff, just puffy and flabby. It went down slightly, but hasn't gone down anymore.

I have had a couple with puppy strangles, it needs antibiotics for it and they will clear up, but it is very painful for the pup, they will eat the hole time and drink just swelled up head and face.

Thankfully its gone way down!!
It was still swelled at 2:30, but by feeding time it was nearly back to normal looking. Just freaked me out having a little pup look like that. Still a little lump on his chest.
No pics of him, I don't think I should post them though if I had.
I had brought them both in last night and locked them in their cage for the night, perfectly fine, but then this morning all swelled. He was in with the little female, so I thought if it had been the food or a treat she would have been swelled too.
So I'm thinking he had to have been bitten or stung or ate a bee, I don't know. I sprayed the basement down and cleaned the cage so hopefully that'll keep anything away.

I'll keep checking on them more than I normally do and hopefully it won't come back.

Thanks for worrying with me!

Laura

Only experience i've had with a pup getting a swelled face was one who had been bite by another dog, but the sounds of it I don't think it sounds like that.
Hope hes better soon!

He was still sleeping this morning when I peeked in, but I hope he looks back to normal. It looked like last night that he had small bumps on all his legs, just seems like some kind of allergic reaction to something.
Unless you're right Autumn and the little girl just happened to bite him in the right spot. I just don't know.

I know! I baby mine so bad, so its hard to see them go through a rough patch.
I just put them outside for a while, he looks almost 100%. No more bumps and hardly any swelling. Still have some extra flab where it was swelled, but he was definitely more perky and himself today. There was a pile of puke in the cage though.
