Purnia ONE 44 lb bag cost are 35.00 at BJ's but I have the rebate checks when I buy so I'm paying 28.00 a bag.

Purnia Puppy Chow its around 25.00 for a 34 lb bag.

For you guys feeding the Purina One how does it compare to the Pro Plan. I've been thinking about trying a bag of it because it is over 9$ a bag cheaper and has very similar ingredients.

virgil, i switched to ONE due to the savings per bag, i like it just as much i honestly didnt notice a difference, guys can say what they want to about purina, but no other food can you find as frequent around town as the other, its awesome food well worth the price and you get 7 dollar rebate cks, as far as black gold i have to drive 40 miles one way to get it and as much as i go thru i cant drive that much i dont have the time and money for gas because i dont have the room for a pallet
as far as purina being more expensive, its really not when you feed the recommendations, the 44# bag of ONE last me longer than the dog chow and theres less crap to clean up thats a huge plus

purina

jonathan sams club or most any wholesale club has it. i feed pro plan i get it from a purina guy about 65 miles away. he takes the purina checks. and i save that way. but the purina one is good i talked to purina rep.. and the pro plan peformance is 89.7 percent digestable,,, and the purina one is 87.9 percent.. its pretty close and i do feed some purina one when i run out.. like the purina one ,, growth and development for puppies. they look sharp on it..

Thanx dual walkers I'm 40-50 miles from a Sams club but that savings sounds like a good reason to make the trip.

I feed raw in the mornings and all the Proplan Performance he can eat at night (usually only about two/three cups worth)

My Vizsla is 60lbs

Thanks, I will try a bag next time I get dog food. I'm hoping it will go down some as today in Wal-Mart I noticed that Dog Chow had went down over 2$ a bag. Hopefully Purina will drop the price on the One and Pro Plan as well.

Rebate checks

The rebate checks are based on a point plan from the weight circles you turn in, you do not get $7 back for every bag circle you turn in so don't be fooled in thinking you get $7 off every bag. It takes several bags to accumulate the $7. Once you get enough accumulated the checks are nice to have but still not worth it for me.

I like Purina but it has priced itself out of my market. I still feed the Purina Puppy chow tho.

Yes that's true about the rebate checks. I was a little misinformed about that when I first joined. The different feeds are different point values so it takes less of the more expensive feed to get the checks.

It takes 16 of 37.5 pound bags of Pro Plan to get 10 checks.
It takes 19 of 34 pound bags of Purina One
It takes 20 of 44.1 pound bags of Dog Chow

So if you do the matht the program saves you about 4.40 a bag off Pro Plan, 3.70 a bag off Purina One and 3.50 a bag off of Dog Chow if you buy the size bags I mentioned.

Still comes out higher than most other feeds but I feel it is worth the extra money because it is a high quality feed.

Start feeding Loyal Performance made by nutrena. Its $27.99 with a $2 a bag sticker on every bag if you join club. Its as good as pro plan with better stool. I was a die hard pro plan guy because i try to feed the best I can afford, but I like loyal better on concrete kennels. My dogs have better stool on loyal than any other food Ive tried. Their opticook program pre digests 80% of the starches so its better on dogs stomach wich results in better stool.
