Coon Opener

Well, last night was the coon opener in Michigan. My son's young dog has had one heck of a time. She started good at 7 months old last November than the nasty weather hit. Then she only got out a little bit before quiet time due to her going in heat. She had been worked on two nuisuance coons this summer, but other than that she hasn't seen any fur. We have been hunting her as much as we can, but it has been all on state land.

I cut her into a corn field on state land. She went clear to the back (probably close to 1/2 mile and struck a track. She worked it out of the field and into a little strip woods and treed. She had a medium sized boar up a little 6-7 inch box elder.

I won't lie about the rest of the night, but it could have been better.

Still, I was pleased that the little dog with the bad luck managed to look good on one drop. See, I have decided it is the dogs that have bad luck and not me.lol

And before you ask Hobo ... nope I didn't take any pictures. If I take a camera to the woods it is usually a recipe for disaster.

I know better than to ask you for pictures of a hunt.
