Looks like a nice dog. Square him up a little more and don't stretch him so far out. Practice, practice, practice and a little patience goes a long ways too. Don't forget to work on gaiting. Good luck and let us know how ya'lls first show turns out.

ALWAY REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR DOGS BACK LEGS AS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN OFF THE BENCH AS YOU CAN. ALSO, THEY ARE WAY TO FAR APART.

IN THE PICS YOU POSTED, YOU SHOULD BRING HIS BACK LEGS UP ABOUT 3 INCHES.

WHEN YOU DO THAT, IT WILL LEVEL OUT HIS BACK AND MAKE HIS TOPLINE CORRECT.

ALSO, A DOG THAT IS STRETCHED TO FAR CANT GET UP ON IT'S TOES AS GOOD, SO I BET THAT HE WILL HAVE BETTER FEET WHEN HIS LEGS ARE CLOSER TOGETHER AS WELL. HE'S GOT GOOD FEET FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, BUT THEY WILL BE TIGHTER WHEN HE IS CLOSER CAUSE IT WONT BE PULLING HIM BACKWARDS.

THE DOGS FRONT FEET SHOULD BE DIRECTLY UNDER HIS SHOULDERS, AND WHEN YOU LOOK FROM FRONT TO BACK YOU SHOULD ONLY SEE ONE SET OF LEGS IF YOU'VE GOT HIM SQUARED UP RIGHT.

DONT PUT HIS FRONT FEET TO CLOSE TOGETHER EITHER, IT WILL MAKE HIS ELBOWS STICK OUT.

THESE ARE JUST SIMPLE THINGS THAT CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.

GAITING IS PROBABLY HARDER THAN BENCHING. LOL. SOME DOGS LIKE TO STRUT THEIR STUFF, SOME JUST WANT TO PULL IN EVERY DIRECTION.

YOU SHOULD TRAIN HIM TO WHERE HE WILL WALK RIGHT BESIDE YOUR LEG AND STAY WITH YOU NO MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE MOVING.

A SMALL SWITCH WILL WORK WONDERS. IF HE STARTS PULLING AHEAD, SWITCH HIM ON THE END OF THE NOSE. DONT HURT HIM JUST MAKE HIM REALIZE HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITH YOU.
ALOT OF JUDGES LIKE TO SEE A DOG WITH IT'S HEAD UP SO THAT IT KEEPS THE DOGS BODY IN LINE AND THEY CAN ACCURATELY WATCH HIM MOVE. IF YOU HAVE A REGULAR COLLAR WITH THE DRING IN IT, SNAP IT IN THE FRONT OF THE COLLAR CLOSEST TO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND PULL THE COLLAR UP UNDER HIS CHIN AND THAT WILL HELP WITH HIM NOT PULLING ON YOU.

IF HE DOESNT JUST TAKE RIGHT TO IT, DONT GIVE UP. JUST WORK WITH HIM EVERY DAY. IT WONT TAKE HIM LONG. SOME DOGS RESPOND VERY WELL WITH A CHOKE CHAIN FOR GAITING TOO. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY ONE IF YOU HAVE A SINGLE SNAP LEAD WITH A CHAIN AT THE END, JUST SLIDE THE SNAP AROUND THE LEAD AND YOU GOT YOUR OWN CHOKE CHAIN.

YES! MUCH BETTER! NOW HE IS MUCH MORE SQUARE AND ACTUALLY LOOKS COMFORTABLE STANDING THERE!

NOW, IF YOU WILL PUT YOUR HAND RIGHT BETWEEN HIS FRONT LEGS FROM UNDER HIS STOMACH FORWARD, AND IF YOU WILL TAKE YOUR POINTER AND BIRD FINGER AND MAKE 2 HOOKS WITH YOUR FINGERS AND KIND OF PINCH THE SKIN RIGHT IN THERE ON HIS CHEST, WHEN YOU POKE AROUND ENOUGH YOU WILL FIND 2 MUSCLES THAT WHEN LIGHTLY PINCHED, WILL MAKE HIM TIGHTEN UP HIS FRONT FEET.

THOSE MUSCLES ARE SOMETIMES HARD TO FIND ON YOUR OWN, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE ACTUALLY SHOW YOU WHERE THEY ARE.

I FORGOT SOMETHING! IF YOU GOT A DOG THAT IS WANTING TO SAG IT'S BELLY, KIND OF GENTLY PINCH OR SQUEEZE THE LOOSE SKIN RIGHT AROUND THE BELLY BUTTON. DONT HURT THE DOG, BUT ALOT OF DOGS (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) ARE TICKLISH LIKE PEOPLE AND WHEN YOU SQUEEZE RIGHT THERE IT MAKES THEM TIGHTEN UP THEIR STOMACH, RIB, AND BACK MUSCLES AND PULLS THEIR BACK UP TO MAKE THEIR TOPLINE BETTER.

HE IS LOOKING GOOD!

HOW IS THE GAITING GOIN?

HEY, I SEARCHED AND SEARCHED AND FOUND THIS VIDEO!

GRANTED, THIS IS NOT PERFESSIONAL VIDEOGRAPHY OR ANYTHING, BUT YOU CAN KINDA SEE WHAT YOU WANT YOUR DOG TO LOOK LIKE WHILE GAITING.

THIS WAS DOC'S 1ST ATTEMPT AT GAITING, SO HE WAS VERY GREEN, BUT HE WAS A VERY FAST LEARNER. WITHIN A WEEK, HE WAS GAITING LIKE A PRO!

RIGHT AT THE END OF THE VIDEO YOU CAN SEE HOW WE SNAPPED THE COLLAR TO TEACH HIM TO GAIT. ONCE THEY ARE TRAINED U CAN USE ABOUT ANY KIND OF COLLAR, EVEN ONE OF THOSE SNAZZY TINY SNAKE COLLARS. THIS JUST GIVES YOU MORE CONTROL TILL THE DOG LEARNS WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO.

I HOPE IT HELPS. SOMETIMES IT JUST MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD TO JUST SEE RATHER THAN READ. LOL.

LIKE I SAID, THIS WAS DOC'S 1ST GAITING SO HE WAS VERY GREEN, BUT DID VERY WELL CONSIDERING.

Yes he's better on his toes, but now he's not stretched out enough. He should be some where between the first pics and the last one!!! You'll get it.

This is what I mean by squared up. Back legs not to far back and not up under him either. Gaiting takes time too. Mine still act like fools sometimes.
