gaiting at benchshows
First of all your dog should be trained to walk beside you without pulling or putting its nose on the ground. Gaiting is supposed to show your dog's ability to move correctly & easily. So it makes sense to TROT. This shows the judge drive & reach, obtained when a dog has correct shoulder & rear angulation. It's good when a judge truly looks at a dog's movement by watching the dog move in a triangle to show going, coming & side view.
