When I was in MS I used a bottom of a 55 gal barrel and put corn in it and used a natural stream to keep water in it. I first went out and put 50 lbs of corn in it a week then I had to step it up to 200 to 250 a week. It was a fine spot to train pups and then take the pups a mile down the road to the edge of the swamp. Thats what worked best for me. Then I moved home and no need for feeders.

In all seriousness, if you have a spot that you want to keep coon (if there are coon there in the first place...) don't leave dead coon if you do shoot one. I have two farmers that when their sweet corn comes on they give me a call. I leave 2 or 3 laying where I shoot them and the coon quit hitting the sweet corn. I've done that for the past 5 or 6 years at those 2 locations.
