albino deer??????

My mother in law said she saw an entire herd of Albino deer out in her yard. I know there are deer hunters that hunt there entire life and never see one single albino deer. I think the Jack Daniels was kicking in. LOL LOL

The finger lakes region of NY has lots and lots of white deer, including one herd that is mostly white. They are not albino, though, they are lucistic - the difference is that a true albino has no color pigment at all - the nose and eyes and eye rims are pink, and they are sterile in most species. A lucistic animal has black nose and eye rims, even though there is no pigment in the hair, and they can reproduce just fine.

my 2nd ex-wife saw a herd of deer one time that had white, black, spotted and every color in between!!!

I didnt believe her though so she took me back to where she seen em and sure enough there they were just grazing around this pasture so I bet her a month of coonhunting in peace against a month of eating supper at the restaurant of her choice that I could walk right out and pet one of the "deer" without even sneaking up on it..AND I DID..what I didnt tell her for well after a month or 3 was that they were GOATS instead of deer!!

looking back on it now that kind of stuff might of been the beginning of the end of our marriage??

Oh well she thought my hounds stunk anyhow..

Loren

I worked at the local station, where the check in station was when we had to check our deer. Any way I seen an old lady bring in one of her neighbor's big old Nubian milk goats.

My wife and kids saw one once. A week or two later, I saw it too. That was the only one I have ever saw. I have seen pics of some that were half white and half brown. They looked pretty neat too.
