OT.. Catfish and Politics

I AM NOT COMPLAINING!!!! This just struck me as funny

Point 1.
So since my dogs are kinda scattered around for the next lil bit I decided I go Catfishin tonite. Caught 5 around 2 lbs each, but what really got me going was thinking about the economics of Catfishing. I mean you buy your bait (livers 1.25), your gas 2 gallons at 2.51), snacks (coke and peanuts 2.00), and you have your time which for me tonite was 3 hours.

So I spent $8.27 before I even pay myself all to end up with about 6 pounds of edible fish (rough guess) that I could by at the store much cheaper...... Sounds like a government program to me. Someone should pitch that to OBAMAnation, Ill be the Catfish CZAR.

Point 2
Rethink of old saying

Give a man a fish and he will want one every friggin day, never do anything for himself, and continue to vote liberal; or teach and man to fish and let him find out that what the govt gives to the other dude is something that they had to steal from him first and he will vote for a conservative

I have no idea why, but I thought id share my random catfishin thoughts with you all

point 1 -

First off, just get you one single tube of crickets. Catch you a cooler full of bream. Cut them all in half. Get you a bunch of huge sized fish hooks and some really strong, white, thin rope. Cut the rope into about 25 different sections about 3 or 4 foot long. Go along the bank and tie them out on limbs hanging over the bank. Put half a bream on each hook. Go back and check on all of them about 7 or 8 hours later. Do this repeatedly over a day or two. Then what you got is something similar to what we had back in July. 2 - 20 pound catfish, 4 - 10 pound catfish, 3 - 5 pound catfish, 1 - 15 pound alligator Gar. A little more work but a WHOLE lot more fish.

point 2 - is fulfilled cause i just taught you how to fish.
