huntin' last night with a bluetick man
Went huntin’ with Wes DePalmo last night. We ended up seeing 8 coons. The first drop Dawn struck and then Mister and her slammed a tree about the same time and Wes’ Bluetick female, Ally, backed them up. We saw the coon but I could not get a picture of it. The next drop they struck all right away and drove it right back to us and treed right beside us. They were on a den but we found it on the outside, and when I went to look at the picture I noticed two sets of eyes instead of one! Then, the next drop Dawn came into the truck and Ally made a tree and we seen the coon, but I could not get a picture because it wouldn’t look again. Mister ended up coming into Ally’s tree…The last dump of the night they all struck and Mister and Dawn slammed a tree and we found a cub. Ally was on up the bank working an old track. While I was taking pictures of Mister, a coon bailed right beside us. Dawn was on the leash but Mister wasn’t. He thought we shot the coon out and ran out looking for it, and started working the track it layed. We let Dawn go and they ended up putting it in a hole about 20 yards up the tree line. Wes ended up calling Ally in and calling it a night. So, we treed 5 coons, put one in a hole, and seen 2 or 3 on the road. So, all in all we had a nice night and the rain held off great! We had a lot of fun and the dogs all showed us some good, hard work. We had quick strikes all night and quick trees and it can’t get any better than that! We looking forward to going huntin’ with Wes again, he is a good friend and we enjoy hunting with him and Ally, she is a nice little bluetick female. Happy hunting and enjoy the pictures!
