A gyp is a female that hasn't had pups. A bitch is a female that has had pups. That's pretty much how people around here use the 2 terms.

Yes are right. This what I found out on the net about the word 'gyp'.

Gyp
Gyp may mean:A slang, pejorative term (see Gyp (slang)) referencing Gypsies. A female dog before age 1. The pen name of Sibylle Gabrielle Marie Antoinette Riqueti de Mirabeau, Comtesse de Martel de Janville. A dance figure (English morris dancing) usually a half-gyp or whole-gyp. A slang term in the UK and Commonwealth countries referring to something being painful or causing discomfort: "My leg is giving me gyp". May also be spelt Gip or Jip.
