I agree with you that dogs should be responsible for their points. Thats exactly why ive never had a problem agreeing to allow other handlers start squalling immediately if everyone else agrees. If a dog is struck and running a track or split treed somewhere else, it has no business coming to that tree to start with. If a dog pulld off a track or a tree because somebody blew a squaller, then thats a fault in that dog that needs corrected. Dogs that are pushed to Nt Ch and Gr Nt Ch shouldnt be protected from their own faults, but instead have those faults tested.JMO
