My male overheats quickly and easily if I'm not careful and I hunt him a minimum of 3 nights a week, usually 4-5 nights. It's just that some dogs can take the heat better than others just the same as people. But when my dog starts to get overheated, he'll find any water he can and lay down in it, I'll give him a few minutes to cool down then he's ready to go again. But this is why I always hunt close to water from May through Sept.

Hunting is one of those pleasures that you won't understand if you have to have it explained, which is good because folks who enjoy it can't fully explain why. -Ron Spomer
