you will give alot of different answers to your post on this, everyone has different ways of training pups. I start with mine as soon as i get them at 6 or 7 weeks. I pull drags with them and get them interested in finding the "coon". Biggest thing when they're that young, is to not over work them, they're still young and have a short attention span. I usually show mine a live coon in a cage with an older dog at about 3-4 months old. Then if the pup shows interest in the coon and can tree a drag by itself without seeing me drag it, I put them in the woods with an older broke dog when they're about 6 months old. Usually they'll pick up the rest on there own. Once the pup goes with the other dogs and is at the tree with them, I start walking the pup down creeks at night alone. If you walk them over a hot track, they should be able to run and tree it. Good Luck with you pup and remember to HAVE FUN!
