Garmin astro Question

Has anyone had any problems with getting signal in heavy cover? Also how far have they reach and where

Mine will get a signal in my house and truck.Unless my roof is mighty thin I assume heavy leaves wont affect it.I've gotten up to 4 miles with the unit itself and up to 8 miles with the roof top antenna doing a road test.
