A Question for You Walker Men

This goes back a few years ... does anyone remember the old Swinney's Diamond Jim dog? I think he won the ACHA World Hunt years ago.

Is there any of that blood left anywhere?

Did any of you ever hunt with him or have a dog out of him?

" But as a teenager I was very fortunate because I was neighbors with Ray Johnson who had the Diamond Jim dog that won the ACHA World Hunt and won about everything there was to win that one year. I was with some pretty good hunters at an early age and found out what a good dog was pretty quick. It really helped, you know. "

Pete, I am not quite ready to convert yet...but I have always said when I find something I like better, I'll have it if I can get it.

I am interested in some older lines of Walker dogs, where the nose, mouth, and disposition might be more to my liking.

By the way, why are you hoping I "convert?"

Jim won the world hunt in 74 he was owned at that time by Buddy Gilbert, but Buddy had not had him very long when he won. Buddy told me that he had not owned the dog long enough to know him so the man he got him from handled him. I may be wrong but I think Buddy said he won the little world hunt that same year.

She watched my children like a nanny, never growled at another dog. She could tree coon anywhere that you dropped her. Put together well and had a good ringing mouth, here name was Bell.
And the part that you'll love, she was ticked up real bad, almost bluetick on her right hip.

There you have it Doug...think of what you'd have if you got one ticked all over!
