Stihl or Husqvarna

Looking to buy a new weed eater, going with one of the smaller straight shafts, wanting either a Husky or Stihl and was wanting some input. Both are good trimmers Im sure but any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Stihl all the way but whatever you do, do not put any gas that has ethenol in it. Ethanol will kill any weedeater you put it in.

Both

I also have a homelite that is 20+years old. Still has the same spark plug in it. But I don't think homelite has that kind of quality now.

I ran an inmate work squad for several years. They weedeated everyday. Nothing can compare with an Echo weedeater. Do some research on them. We had some Hus., Stihl, amoung others. The Echo brand held up the best.

Hope that helps.

Sorry I don't know about a weedeater, but husqvarna chain saws are great depending on use. For heavy cutting they are the best quality for the price, the only saws better would be Johns Reds(sp?). My dad was general foreman of Asplundh tree service one of the largest in the world and they used huskies on everything except when we had to climb. When it came to a tree that needed to be climbed we used stihl because of their extreemly light weight. Both are excelent quality, and have lasted through several 100ft. plus falls.

everyone likes the high dollar things but believe me, i used a craftsman 32cc for years. i used it everyday to clear and maintain trails in the national forest. i used two tanks of gas each day. i modified the end to accept circular saw blades and i never wore the motor out. i did go through two gear boxes. i left it in the forest and forgot where i hide it and never did find that thing. i also have a craftsman chain saw that's 15 years old. it blew a head gasket last year. i cut enough wood every year to heat my house, exclusively with wood for 5 winters. i used it also for clearing trails and it's still running perfectly.

I'm a STIHL man all the way!

As for weed wackers...just be sure to get the right model for what you'll be doing. A weedwacker is not a brush cutter, and over doing it with any tool will lead to failure. If you're looking for a string trimmer just to trim grass, get a grass cutter. If you're looking for something to trim grass..and clear brush, get a larger brush cutter.

Whatever you choose, don't leave gas in it for an extended down period.

Had a small engine expert / go gart racer show me how the additives in gasoline today seperate into seperate chemicals over time. The two parts were obvious looking thru the jug.

Looked like it would mess up your carberator for sure.
Made a believer out of me.

jmo,

mlb
