bobcats

i've got a new leopard hound. she's 14 months old and has very little experience. i took her road hunting twice. both times she went with my two curs and went farther. both times my stephens cur struck something and then dropped it but the leopard kept at it. in both cases it turned out to be bobcats. i decided on bobcats because as i got near the tree, she fell silent and then went to treeing some 100 yrds away. after about half and hour she came back. i like treeing bobcats but only if i can see them. otherwise i want her to hunt coons. what does this this bobcat hunting tell you about the dog? to me she seems to have a colder nose and more tracking skills and will stay at the tree a good while.
