OK NC maybe this gets your attention **H626 -Tethering Bill***

Is your Dog tied out on a shorter than 15' Tether or left Tethered for more than 9 out of 24 hours?????

NC House Bill 626 will make this illegal if it passes....

Please you have not idea how important it is for us to get ahold of our representatives and let them know how much we disapprove of the laws.

What most people do not realize is that when the state passes a law such as this every city or county can go in an make it even more strict on a local level. Once the bill is on the books it is on the books and only changes from there.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART!!!!!

Please also remember we are fighting H460/S460 Commercial Breeders - S515 removal of fox and Cyotoe Pins

But we are supporting S329 - the constitutional ammendment to add the "Right to Hunt" in NC.

N.C ..NEED TO KNOW NOT EVERONE CAN BUY KENNEL'S OR WALK ALL THE DOG THAY HAVE EVER DAY BUT MOST DOG'S OR FEEDED AND LOVED EVERDAY..

AND WE NEED TO LET THEM KNOW...JUST LIKE THAY TRYED TO PASS A BILL THAT GAME ROOSTER CAN NOT BE TIED OUT.....

We have a position paper on Tethering at the NCCHA webite (www.nccoonhunters.com)

not only contact you rep but also contact everyone on the committee and the ones sponsor/cosponsor this bill. if they dont know how you feel, they will vote how they want.

again, the sponsor/cosponsors and most of the reps on the wildlife committee are from rural counties. that should be able to play in our favor of getting this killed.

looks good to me - My email read alot of the same way and I have sent it to as many of them as possible.

I am also on the email notifications for all of the committees that are involved in all of these isssue that we are facing right now.

The send and email prior to the date and as to what bills are going to be covered at that meeting.

I will keep everyone apprised as I here anything.

We have alot of people that are sending emails making phone calls and doing there part. But please remember your representative that you did not contact could be the deciding factor..... PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DO YOUR PART AND HELP!!!

I know one of the Vice Chairmen of the Wildlife Resources Committee, so I made a call to him this afternoon about this bill. He said that the committee will meet next Wednesday, and he'll check into it to find out more about the bill. He asked me to send an email explaining my position so he had a record of it. Finally, he told me that he would meet with someone (I forgot the name) that works with houndsmen on legislative issues to get more information.

I live in Orange County, NC, where this law was passed as a County Ordinance. One thing that I pointed out to the Rep. on the phone was that this is something that is typically addressed at the local level, and passing a State-wide law could result in counties needing state funding to comply with the legislation. In other words, if the state passes this law, counties may come back and ask for money to help their animal control departments comply with it. At a time when our Gov. is cutting budgets severely, this is not fiscally responsible. I urged him to oppose the legislation and leave this up to the local municipalities.

Write letters, make phone calls, and send emails to your representative. If we don't make our voice heard, the only voice the representatives will hear is that of the Anti's.

Thank you Jason - He is probably speaking about Joe and Henry McClease - with the NC Sporting Dog Assoc. They are very active with the Lobby for houndsmen in Raleigh.

Lisa - I think Henry McClease was the name he gave me. He said he would meet with him next week to talk about it. Do you know how to get up with Henry??? If so, PM me, and I'll give you the name of the Rep. I spoke with or send me his contact info, and I'll call or write Henry to tell him who I spoke with.

We need everyone to write their House Rep. to oppose this legislation. There are already laws on the books to prevent cruelty to animals, and if those are enforced properly, ridiculous laws like this aren't necessary...

Called

The reps,and the sponsers and gave my negative opinon on this,some of the reps didn't know a thing about the bill or some of the others after me calling from day one 460.I just wonder sometimes if we are getting through.I make sure that I talk direct to the rep or sen not a voice mail or sec.I've spread about these bills to over a 100 people state wide knowing a hundred them selfs.SO the words out there if they just contact who they need to.
