yeah ive also been on cast where the judge wouldnt let me call my dog and minused me for trying. cheaters use a variety of tricks to get a cast win its a tough game for sure.

If I understand Coalminer correctly, he is talking about the situation where dog A is called treed and the handler of dogB just automaticly trees dog B knowing he will be there when the cast arrives at the tree. You see this way too much in the hunts. A good judge would 1) minus dog B for violateing rule #1 (dogs must open before declared struck or treed), 2) minus dog B for calling the wrong dog(treeing off dog A), or3) minus dog B for moving if dog B was not at the tree when called treed. Any of these calls made by the judge will raise a rucus from handler B which is exactly why most judges don't make the call. But the rules are there for the strong judge that is capable and willing to make the call.

Thank you very much!......No need for any other post's as far as i'm concerned you just answered my ?....THANKS

By the way this is exactly what was happening or happened twice....And my gripe was i was the only one saying anything and getting no backing because the dog was barking in the area but clearly ...CLEARLY wasnt on that tree!.......

I sure would like to go along as a spectator on a cast with JiM as the judge. Just to watch and learn. Thing is, usually when folks on a cast get with a judge that goes by the rules and they know that judge's track record, you aint going to see a whole lot of fussing. Still I would like to tag along just in case there was some pitching or attempted cheating or rule twisting and watch JiM work.

rule????

Jim,I was wrong about the warning but on page 55 of the rule book 2009/2010 in sec#6 DOGS WILL BE SCRATCHED: section F it states and I quote"On the second offence if handler calls another handler's dog."Sorry about giving a warning you do minus the dog instead. You were right about that.

You wouldn't see much Coon Commander. My hearing is so impaired that I don't even handle my own dog much anymore, let alone judge a cast.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk, and I am fairly new to Night Hunts but the bottom Line is call your dog three words (CALL YOUR DOG)I dont care if I win I really dont but I'll get mine Why because I don't care what anybody else does or says, I know my dog and I learn about him more and more all the time, Last night pleasure hunting with a buddy dogs strike off the edge of a corn field take track back into the woods 100 yds in," Dogs are back tracking" How can you tell ?I was asked Its just not right, 2 minutes later razor just out of the blue locates and starts treeing 30 yrds from us buddies dog still fairly deep picking,I've only hunted a few hunts in a couple of kcs , I've already had guys tell me I'm calling there dog,my dog is treed (when hes not) and your not going to find a coon in there "why" because my dog came back.it was my dog that left o well I take my minus's But my plus's are true blue honest I called my dog and I called it right,
