Well, up here in the mountains:
The coons are soooo bad in the corn fields right now, the're the hot spot to hunt OR trap! We've caught 5 last week and this week! 4 sows and 1 boar. Turned the sows lose on feeders.
Do you believe that one of the sows was FULL of babies. She was really calm, you could feel them moving. But, she wasn't making milk yet. I though most coons should have already had their kittens by now.
The best time to hunt here, is from about 1:00am on. Also, I'm about like Coon dawg, I also think that they are moving before dark sometimes too, because Hank and Molly have hit some pretty cold tracks these past 2 weeks. Molly can't do much with a really cold track, but Hank is OK at them and lay ups.
