Passing of the torch

In 28 years of coonhunting no one has ever unsnapped one of my hounds but me. But tonite that is changing. My son just loaded my old Red Tick and he and a hunting buddy just went to tree ole ricky. My sons first time to hunt without me,he told me he will not how to act without following me thru the timber. He was nervous and told me he hoped nothing would happen to old Pete and i told he dont worry, ole Pete would take care of himself. I am just proud to see the youth getting involved in this sport that alot of us have enjoyed for so long. But it does make me fell old setting at home.

Would be hard for me to sit home and not hear them dogs too. Good learning experience for the boys doing it alone.
