Blood in stool or urine???

I have a male beagle that I have recently noticed him passing blood. It looks like to me that it is in his stool, but some of it is around the edge of the pen like it could be the urine. The dog is a year and a half old and seems like that he feels well.

What should I do????

Can't go wrong with a vet trip.

I have a male beagle that has blood in his urine after he runs. He is an inside dog/pet. He does get loose every now and again to chase rabbits and squirrels, but not too often because of his condition. The vet told me that he has no fat on his body to burn, therefore he burns muscle. When he burns muscle, the proteins break down into his urine, causing him to pee blood. I have tried everything to put fat on this dog, and i am convinced it cannot be done. He is very sensitive after this also. Almost like his kidneys hurt. Havent ever gotten a second opinion, but it makes sense.

Do a google search for "Exertional Rhabdomyolysis" in the dog. It can be both treated and prevented. It is basically a potassium imbalance brought on by over exertion in an unfit dog.

I have just about ruled out that the blood was in the urine. I believe it is either in the stool or vomited.....

Sounds like a case of hook worms...Best take a stool sample to your vet to be tested...
