((( Friday's vs Saturday's )))

I have my own theory but wanted to see what other people thought why our hunts draw more dogs on Fri than on Sat anymore. We always use to draw more on Sat !!!

Our club members always complain that we do not have enough Saturday hunts. I think we only have 2/year; the rest are on Fridays. I know that the club asked for me to discontinue Friday bench shows.

We've wondered about that, too. Some reasons we've brought up:
-can go to 1 hunt on the weekend, get it out of the way on Fri.
-seen some problem with the dog on Fri. night, work on it at home on Sat.
-something better to do on Sat. night
-thinking attendance will be lower on Fri. night so go then for an easier win.

I do not know the least little thing about competition hunting's ins and outs, but I'm just wondering if the need to get up rather early on Sunday to go to church doesn't make Friday night a better option than Saturday for those coonhunters that are church-goers....especially when travel is involved.

I have noticed the same thing in our area with Fridays always drawing better. I have no idea why that is.

I prefer Saturday as sometimes I don't get off until too late to make deadline of Friday.

It is a pain getting up for church though.

my theory

I don't want anyone to take this comment seriously but this is just my opinion ! I think we have a different generation that are hunting the hunts, and alot of them can hunt one night on the weekend and they have to spend the other with the family, and I don't see nothing wrong with that. But, back in the day when we hunted hunts regularly we was at a hunt or hunting every night !! Maybe we should have spent more time with the family, but that is what we did. This is just my opinion !!!
