Question About Dog Names

Why is it that people name their dogs after the Sire?

I've seen several dogs named 'Trackman' that it's getting hard to tell them apart anymore. I don't mean the one's like 'Trackman's Such and Such Son' but all the others that are 'Stylish Trackman' Etc.

Why do this? Where's the originality in coming up with a name?
Maybe its just me, but I don't see the point in doing that.

WELL...THAT WAY YOU DONT HAVE TO WONDER "RECKON WHO THAT DOG'S OUT OF" IF IT'S TRACKMAN'S YADA YADA OR SID'S YADA YADA YOU KNOW AT LEAST WHO THE SIRE IS.

So they can cash in on the popularity and notarity of their dogs pedigree just by someone looking at the dogs name.

we have one called "Little Jebb"....

we were going to call Mister Jebb Again....but it didn't really seem to fit him....

I personally don't mind it. there are so many trackman dogs that you lose count any way!

I was at a nite hunt one night and I was listening to them draw nitech casts....I was in Reg. There was a gyp off of trackman called tracktor girl....that was nice....lol

happy hunting

Laura that bugs me too when they change just part of the name so its almost identical name to the sire.
I do like when people use the sire's name like for example Spike's Twilite Hooker, you know her sire is Spike. I plan from now on to use the sire's name instead of my last name.

One thing I learned the hard way about names is that nobody wants to buy a titled dog with a name like "Sizemore's Timber Jam Whatever" but they will pay good money for the very same dog if it is named something "Psycho's Super Something" or "Stylish Anything". If you plan to title them and sell, you best keep your pertsonel name off them.
