Freeze Branding ?

I have seen and helped dogs get freeze branded.
Will this work on other animals?

Looking to freeze brand Buffalo.
Anyone have any equipment for sale?

Todd Baker

yes it will work on any animale even you, it kill's the pigment in the skin and comes back white. with an animale that big you will do like cattle and pen them up close and tite. clip the hair shave it to the skin, wet it with aceatone and freeze brand it. it dont hurt them so they dont kick and all that but i would think with bufalo you need to pen them so you dont get ran over or step on.
ps dont put dry ice on your face to see how cold it is. it is cold and it stings a little .. so i have been told ..lol..

Hey Todd , Gary's got a good idea there about John Cole. Seems like he said he was retiring from freeze branding, may be able to set you up. Get some first hand advice at the least.

I've had some freeze marked horses. In order to be able to read the thing, the hair has to be kept short. It's ok in the summer, but the rest of the year, it just looks like a white spot unless it's clipped. Don't know how all that would work on something real hairy and wild like a buffalo.
