Breeding Question

At what age do all of you breeders recommend breeding a female for the first time. I have asked a few people and got just as many different answers.

Lots of opinions I'm sure!!

Here is mine!! Second heat cycle would be the earliest, but most important is when you know she is a coondog in the woods with no major faults that would represent the breed of choice well thru her offspring!! JMO!!

Wait!!!!!! don't get too excited too fast!!!!!!!LOL

Naw, just kidding ya.

True dogs can have a litter with their first heat, but I like to wait untilthey are 2-3 years old before I breed them. That way I am sure they aren't only physically mature, but that they are more mentally mature too.

I too wait till around 3 years old but would say as far as being safe for the female the second heat is ok. I also like to grnt them first. Not that this right just what I do.
