Garmin Astro Problem!!

I am using an astro 220 and facing some difficulty. I was using the DC-20 and couldnt ever hardly get any range past 400yds but since everyone was having problems with the DC-20 i didnt think much of it. I got my DC-30 in themail and charged it and got it working and worked good but when the dog got past 400yds the same thing happen and couldnt keep a signal. I am hunting river bottoms in good flat land. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! starting to get frustrating!

Maybe you have a bad antenna on the handheld. Take the antenna off the dc-20 and put it on the handheld and see if you get better signal with the dc-30. I get over a mile out of my dc-30 hunting in mountains with the handheld only. With the truck mount I get over three miles so you should be getting better signal.

Good idea. I'm gonna try swaping my antenna too. I get 1.2 miles tracking my dc20 and my buddy can get close to 2 miles tracking the same dc20 at the same time with his hand held.
