Bark Collars?

Is anyone using the new Tri-Tronics xs series bark collars and are they worth it?Will they work on breaking a dog box barker?

I would really like some advise on this also. Some of the supply dealers I have spoken to told me they have quit selling any type of bark limiters as they got tired of having to replace them. I would buy several if someone could convince me they worked. Thanks!

I have a cheap Bark Limiter that I bought from Bill Boatman several years ago that still does a fine job. I would guess that a Tritronics would be even better. I do know that I would not be without a good bark limiter even though I live in the country.

Bark Limiters

I use the Innotek collars they work well, If a coon comes through the yard at night,, they will bark regardless of the shock, at least mine do.....

How long do you leave the collar on the dog,24/7 until they're broke or only during problem times?

My stud dog will bark at night if I have a female in heat. I put the limiter on him at night and take it off the next morning. If I had a nuicence barker, I would leave it on 24/7 for a day or so. I am not sure if drinking water or eating would trigger one. so I would certainly take it off if it does. I have alot of game that I hunt my dogs on come through my yard. So, I try not to shock them for that and just use it on the nuicence barkers. I try to stop them by voice and use the collar as a last resort.

I have both and like innotec.Tri tronics work just as well but there are small wires that may break after a few years.Do not leave on dog for more than 6 or 8 hours or the prongs will rub holes in the dog.

My bark limiter runs off of a cheap 9 volt battery that can be bought at any grocery store.

Bark Collars

My Innotek BC-50B's take a small 6volt battery that cost about 10.00 for two... They last a real long time though... Can be found at Radio Shack sometimes at Walmart...
