I got a deer last night...

I got a deer last night... with the wife's car!

No matter how careful you are sometimes, it just happens. One doe was standing in the middle of the road and I started slowing down for her. She got out of the way when her sister came from the left!!

Going to need a new front quarter pannel, front bumper, grill and hood!

Going to take it tomorrow to get the estimates... I'm guessing around $3000. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

OUCH!

I'm ASSUMING you are ok... and no one was hurt and if that is the case you are LUCKY! Stinks to have that damage... Bob had one do the same thing to his Jeep a couple of years back... and luckily he and the kids were fine.

Take Care, Heather and Bob

I was loading up to go hunting last night when a new model Chevy truck hit a 8 point coming out of MY FRONT YARD!! SCARED THE $#!/ OUT OF ME!!! I never saw the deer when I went outside, but was standing by my tailgate turning on shocking/tracking collars when she hit it. Tore her truck all to pieces. She wasn't hurt, but her truck sure was. I hope all goes well with getting your car fixed. Good Luck with the insurace company.

I forgot to add. Nobody was hurt. My wife was in the car with me and she is 8 months pregnant, so it scared both of us at first. She said that she felt fine and the baby was and has been moving good. Thanks to those of you that asked.

Thanks, Heather!

We really are blessed. Even though alot of times it doesn't seem like it, little times like these remind you that you are.

I didnt hunt this season but judging by what the season was like around here (kentucky) I would say deer kills were down this season. I imagine the summer will be 10 times worse than normal. Weather was about to bad for most hunters. Ive seen a ton more deer than i normally do after season. Sorry about your car...we have elk near here and I hope I never get me one of those.

Insurance companies are a real joke you know!!

Since my estimate was over 2500 they now have to send an adjuster out to look at it. The adjuster has up to 1 week to look at it. Then it will be in the shop for another 4 days to get the body work done.

I'm betting that it isnt fixed before Christmas!

I wont take that bet cause I know first hand that insurance companies dont get in any hurry for nothing.
My home burnt down in sept and it just got settled a few days ago.
