Ever Wonder WHY?????

Each night when I tend the dogs, I always dump their water and make sure they have fresh clean water.....as a dog owner should. I often wonder though...WHY? When you are hunting them and they are hot/dry, they find the biggest, nastiest mud hole they can find, stomp around in it a while...THEN lean down and drink it like it's fine wine.

Maybe it's just my dogs.....who aren't smart enough to get a drink at the truck! LOL

I think owners care a lot more about clean water than dogs do.

I've wondered the same thing... and came to the conclusion that that's one of the reasons why dogs are dogs and people are what makes the world go round, not dogs! haha

ChickensHorsesDogs

Have always driven me nuts on the freshwater thing. When you dump the water MOST of the time they drink the dirty water you dumped from the pool you just made in the dirt. I have chickens come RUNNING to get the newly dumped bird poop filled water.... Yet I STILL scrub the buckets faithfully on the off chance they desire the clean water. I always love seeing my husband scrub the dog pool.... and look at it with pride filled with lovely clear water... watch my bluedawg Wyatt walk over... lift his leg above the side...pee into the water then proceed to drink the freshly tainted water OR... drink from the even dirtier puddle next to the pool...LOL...

Animals... I don't wonder but.... they do drive me nuts!

I hear ya! They see me coming with fresh water and they run over and start drinking away at the other like what I'm about to change it to is toxic.

Same reason they love to roll around on a dead frog or snake, they like the stink.

Well tonight while out hunting I had the dog on the leash walking back to the quad... and the dog started licking snow as we were walking... I had to ponder that 1 for a bit bc I surely have reached down and taken a handful of fresh snow!?

We had a Very nicely bred walker pup a while back out of a popular stud. She had a horrible chip on her shoulder and when we tried to crate train her , she would go outside , do her buisness, and if put back in the crate would in no time pee or poo in it and LAY DOWN in it. And if we took her out to go potty and no matter how much excercise or how tired as soon as we would bring her back in she would pee on the floor and give us one of "those" looks, one that if the dog could talk prob involved 4 letter words.
This started as soon as we got her home at 3mos, when we were looking at the litter she was all happy-go -lucky and pick-me-pick-me. As soon as we got her home.........devil dog came out LOL

I will always wonder about that. She was just pure evil in a hound LOL
