Help???????

I have a 19 month old walker male that treed nine coons in one week back the first of march. I had some family trouble and wasnt able to hunt him any until the last of april. It was like he forgot everything, he is extremely indepedent still will not run a track with other dogs. he hasnt treed but three times since i started back huntin him in april, that has been six months 5-6 nights a week with and without other dogs. any ideas on gettin him back to treein good? he will strike and run a track just doesnt want to tree?

i would try live trapped coon let it loose in a field when its gets out far enough your dog wont catch it but will see iy go up a tree. also shoot one out to the hound once in a while if he stays treed or if the other hounds tree catch him and tie back a little from the coon tree where he can see but cant touch the coon you shoot out to the other dog watching the other dog get to play may flip his switch.

I turned loose one on him the other day in a big pasture where the coon went a 1/4 mile before he got to the woods, when he got to the woods we turned him loose and he trailed him on in the woods and treed and stayed 30mins before we started walkin to him. I have been told to tie him back when we shoot a coon out to the other dogs but i cant do that cause he is NEVER with the other dogs, he always goes his own way trailin somethin, but everytime he has treed there has been a coon!!

not knocking any of the hounds in question but is it possible he may get or has been ran off of the tree by the other hound or hounds or is he skiddish of other hounds. you could try keeping him back on a leash once and bring him in to the tree when the other hounds tree and see how he acts when you get there if he tries to get away from the situation or wont go by the other hounds that could be the problem or he might turn and start treeing with them with a little encouraging from you. "talked to my huntin buddies and got some ideas for you." also agreed on was if he is scared dont force him to go in try to get him excited and want to but dont pull him up there and try to make him get in when I first started i did that stupid me. pulled the dog to the tree when he was trying to go the other way hes a house pet for a guy acrossed town now. I learned from that one. 250.00 and the hound. anyway just some things to think about and try. hopefully walking him in gets it done. good luck

No he is not shy of other dogs, no dog will push him around he just doesnt go with them he is by hisself, when he does tree is a up on the wood every breathe tree dog, its just like he isnt sure of hisself so he want tree. I have thought about leading him into the tree with the other dogs but i wasnt sure if i should do that or not. He treed night before last with other dogs and had a coon, he was up on the tree with another dog and there was another but he sits at the base of the tree, so he might be startin to come back around.

any and all suggestions will be welcome because i am tryin my best to get this dog back in good condition, he is really loud, independent and accurate, so please help..
